Located within Única – Adega Cooperativa do Algarve (Algarve’s Cooperative Winery) in Lagoa, the Art Gallery – Lady in Red takes advantage of the old building for an exhibition of various art pieces and sculptures.

The fascinating LiR – Art Gallery is housed in a working cooperative winery, which still produces local wines from various Algarve vineyards, in a large modern space which displays a variety of pieces by local, national and international artists and is also an excellent venue for events.

The gallery exhibition centre is located in a space above the bottling and processing area of the cooperative, which allows a wide view of this area, creating a unique atmosphere. Here you will find a mix of sculptures, paintings and ceramics in large display windows with excellent lighting. There are seats scattered around the gallery for relaxation and contemplation. Regular visits to the gallery are a good idea as there are always new pieces and installations to enjoy.

LiR – Art Gallery has ongoing exhibitions by various artists and the pieces on display are for sale.

There are large installations as well as smaller pieces to take home. The gallery arranges shipping and delivery.

As an event venue, LiR is quite different. The art mixed with the industrial environment of the cooperative, which has a long tradition in the region, together create a very distinctive atmosphere, as unique as the art itself.

The space itself is very large and there is a stage and seating area for live and broadcast performances and presentations.

Entry to the gallery is through the winery shop. Although entry is free, donations are welcome. LiR – Art Gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
