Before starting the trail visit the whale lookout by walking along the access lane on the left.

After starting the route you can find orchards and vineyards. When you arrive at the bay, pass the tidal pool and walk among Australian cheesewood (Pittosporum undulatum) and Azores heather (Erica azorica) and turn into a shortcut over basaltic rocks. This route ends at the centre of Lajido near the Interpretation Centre for the UNESCO vineyards of Pico.
